Where Are the Challenges In Life?

My life is comfortable--warm showers, soft bed, cable television, hi-speed internet. I don't want to give any of those amenities up, no way, but I don't want to live life in a state of permanet sedation either.
How do we find stimulation in a world where the uinverse comes to your living room? This weekend our family unit chose river rafting!

We had a great time. While the danger was limited, flying through those class III rapids was more excitting knowing that every now and again someone got hurt. Of course, the river was filled with affluent consumers all looking for a cheap thrill in a safe environment.
This picture (taken at Hospital Bar) highlights that it was a blast and exciting--but also that we were under control and never threatened.

I was delighted that my whole family wants to tackle more challenging rivers as soon as Colleen is old enough, age 13.
